  • Lynn Galluzze: happy as is Joe for Main Street and great weather AND the roof is going up on the Pavilion!
  • Susan Priest: happy for great great weather  which means no stockings and still in sandals…men do you get that?
  • Phil Rush: happy he can “see clearly now” after cataract surgery and that “fine print” is no longer a problem.
  • Karen Reese: Social TPA in Washington dealing with child safety issues among other things is disbanding the local group and they made a $900 donation to the park pavilion effort. THANK YOU!!!

  • Erin Jones: happy to be back at meetings and has missed a few due to W&J duties…she has been missed.
  • Susan Price: happy for a great trip to California and had a surprise message and request to pick up niece Kelly who flew in last night from California.
  • John Hopper: happy that Main Street is finally open and is supporting the Grand Opening of Harmony Life Center (recovery, resources and support) on September 30 at 9:30am; tours conducted all day long.
  • Tom Drewitz: our PDG Tom needs you to document your volunteer hours and if you are in charge of an event make sure your volunteer list is passed on – You know WHY so let’s just DO IT.

GET TO KNOW A ROTARIAN

ERIN JONES:  a “newer experienced member” told of her love of community in Washington from the first neighborhood to Wash Hi to W&J. Erin is truly homegrown and that is all good. Erin’s first job was with the Observer-Reporter and she had a great taste for Journalism, her first love. After a stint with an on-line news outlet that ended an opening happened at W&J where she started in the Communications/Media Department and now holds the position of Associate Director of Communications at her alma mater, W&J. This was a great presentation and we are happy to have Erin as a vital member of our Club.

PHIL RUSH: is the “more experienced” member and spoke of early family days in the country and his family farming where his parents and grandparents worked from “day light to dark”. Phil told about his love of baseball and meeting the real “love of his life” Connie. Phil has the distinction of attending 52 Pirate Home Openers. He is glad because his first employment was with a Connecticut company who promptly transferred him to Pittsburgh and he worked with Pittsburgh Business Forms, much later going on to own his business Key Enterprises. Phil and Connie still live in Bethel Park and he is happy to report they are both Cancer survivors.
Phil joined the Washington Rotary Club and eventually became the President and that year he guided the “Club of the Year”. Phil said he had to write down what to say unlike Erin because he has been around a few years and can’t remember everything!
GREAT PRESENTATION BY BOTH ACTIVE ROTARIANS AND WE THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR STORIES!!
