INVOCATION:

Dave Hart

50/50:

Susan Priest…not so happy
Dorothy Tecklenburg …surprised/happy

GUESTS:

No guests but some “strangers” in our midst….and it's good to have them back!

FOUNDATION MOMENT:

Chairman Dave Hart came again with “hat in hand” to continue collection for World Polio Day. After collecting over $700 at the last meeting the “hat” returned for those who missed the past opportunity to GIVE!

HAPPY $$$$:

  • Bill Mesler gave $5.00 for Sandy’s Dance Troupe  and for her choreography for the upcoming production of “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” as well as his grandson’s part in the production.
  • Tom Drewitz: happy to explain Happy Dollars concept to Rotarians at his table at St Vincent’s Rotary Summit. They were amazed at the idea and were certain to start in their club meetings ASAP.
  • Tripp Kline: our “missing Rotarian” due to vacation and illness but he is happy to be back and almost 100%.
  • Kathy Sabol: happy for the great Bar Association event that raised over $50,000 for the Bar Foundation. The anniversary of the Washington Co Courthouse really drew in the participants…Great job Kathy!
  • Bill Allison: thanked Kathy for her hard work and coordination for the Bar Association Event…Courthouse never looked so good.
  • Susan Priest:  happy to have been able to continue wearing sandals so far into October; but also, no doctor’s visit for 3 months.
  • Rachel Lozosky: presented at the School Boards Conference regarding Special Education and it went well; happy about the W&J Homecoming and the installation of the new President; the great Bar Gala last weekend and this weekend her brother is getting married. Rachel has LOTS to be happy about!
  • Ken Baker: added to the comments made by Bill Allison and Rachel…wonderful event at the Courthouse.
  • Tim Warco: says he needs to be back to a meeting; 2 sons are at JFK and he is happy to announce a third child is due in January (a girl). Congratulations Tim and he gives credit to his wife for all she does to keep everyone moving in the right direction.
  • Aaron Wrubleski: 90 water filters have been donated as of this meeting and if you have not already made your donation Aaron will be happy to “sign you up.” Good job Aaron!
  • Andy Goudy: happy for his new home in South Strabane and all of the glitches have been addressed and he is one happy man! Great news.
  • John Tecklenburg: happy the Bradford House ownership is now in the hands of the Board even with potential funding problems; for Joe P and his great ghost stories to add to the Ghost Tours with 450 guests this past weekend on tour.
  • RichPodgurski: the President ate great food at 3 different events last week…Bar Association, Health Center Dinner, W&J’s President’s Reception and of great news…The Community Pavilion roof is NOW COMPLETE and on to the next phase!

Get to Know a Rotarian and the newest Rotarian John Quayle shared with us great stories about his family and his varied and interesting experiences as a well-known WPIAL official.
We welcome John to Rotary and are also happy to have gotten “to know” him a little better.
Our “seasoned” Rotarian was unable to attend as he had to be in Butler. Don’t worry we’ll catch up with Andy Uram very soon….
